F37 union is an independent photography platform established in 2020 by Emin Mathers and Sharaf Naghiyeva. The main goal of the union is to build a healthy ecosystem that aims to connect communities around contemporary photography, support emerging authors in their career, develop the photography market in the region, as well as widen the borders of the community to international practice.

We started as an online platform and then developed into physical space. The first exhibition was "Crossing Realities" where the works of three photographers Emin Mathers, Chichek Bayramly and Leyla Musaeva were presented, then, a month later, the second exhibition "a Letter" by Sharaf Naghiyeva and Fidan Nazimgizi was held at Nur Art House. As a next step we curated a group exhibition of 10 local photographers in Baku Photography House - "Defocused" about ecological issues in the region. In frames of it artist talks, meetings on ecological issues and movie nights were held. This experience shaped our path, brought new members on the way to the main goal. In 2022 we were presented at the KOLGA international photography festival presenting eight contemporary photographers.

Our community is open to new ideas, members and collaborations.
